She's Six!

On Wednesday, March 24, our beautiful girl turned SIX!  Before her birthday, six just seemed so much older than five,  but I think I'm adjusting to it now ;-)  We're so proud of Elizabeth!  She is a great big sister, and a good friend!  She loves to praise Jesus and was excited to get a new Bible that she can read.  She also was excited about receiving some new percussion instruments.  She has such a generous spirit.  We're looking forward to see what God has in store for His child!

Here are some highlights from her special day:

~Elizabeth chose to have chocolate covered donuts for her breakfast.
~David left work at lunchtime, and we all joined Elizabeth at school for lunch.  She was thrilled to show her brothers to her friends.  Instead of cupcakes we took Rice Krispy treats rolled in sugar sprinkles to share with her friends.  Her teacher usually has parents read a story to the class when they come in for birthdays, but Elizabeth decided she wanted to read the story to her class instead.  She did a great job reading The Very Busy Spider.  We were able to hear her classmates share some of the things they think are special about Elizabeth.
~I picked Elizabeth up from school and we headed to Target for a little girl time.  She asked if she could get a watch with hands.
~For dinner, Elizabeth chose for the family to go to Dairy Queen.  She chose to come with me to sing during choir practice rather than have me stay home.
~Grandma Allen arrived just as we were getting ready for bed!

She enjoyed being princess for the day, and she had even more fun in store in the days to come.
