Overwhelmed

That's the only way I can describe my feelings tonight. There is so much to do and so many decisions to make. Yet, I feel like I don't know how to begin even half of it

Then I read this good news...
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men tumble and fall; Isaiah 40:28-30 NIV

The New Jerusalem

Revelation 21:1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

Plans

Proverbs 16:
3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. 4 The LORD works out everything to its proper end—even the wicked for a day of disaster

I have to admit; I have not been doing this very well. This is a concept I know and believe, yet I keep wanting to hold onto my plans. The waiting and the unknown seem so difficult. But GOD Himself, the Creator of heaven and earth, is in control. HE will work everything out to its proper end.

Give thanks FOR everything

My husband and I often read "Daily Manna From the Net" on the International Bible Society website. Today the Scripture was from Ephesians 5:15-20, and part of that passage really got me thinking. Verse 20 says "...always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." That's the NIV. I was curious, so I looked it up in other versions. NIRV, KJV, NASB, NLT, and AMP all use that word, "FOR."

I know that we are supposed to be thankful to God at all times, even DURING trying times. God is always good, so I believe there is always something to be thankful for. It's so much more difficult to be thankful FOR those times and situations.

God, please give me a truly grateful heart; teach me to give thanks for everything.

His Plan

We chose Psalm 139:13-16 as a theme verse because it is God who created us and brought us to this place. He has plans for our lives and for whatever children He chooses to bring into our family. He knew them before He ever created the world. What an amazing God!
